Food for Thought Series – MAXI hosts Author Amish for an engaging session
XLRI witnessed one of the most awaited sessions by Mr. Amish Tripathi, author of the fastest selling book series in the history of Indian Publishing on 15th September 2017. One of the many Food for Thought sessions, it was organized by the Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI) in association with Sanmarg, the Hindi Daily.
Ranked among the top 100 celebrities in India by Forbes, four times in a row, Amish is one of the 50 most influential young Indians as ranked twice by GQ India. He is one of the most celebrated authors of India with a vast legacy of popular books, the fervor of which was clearly seen among students, professors and staff alike at XLRI. As for Amish, it was the second time he was visiting XLRI campus, long after his MBA days when he was studying at IIM Calcutta. He was not only excited about interacting with the students but also revisiting the campus to refresh his memories.
The event was highly interactive while Amish lay bare his tryst with life. The students and professors got an opportunity for an up-close and personal tete-a-tete with Amish. He spoke about leadership, mythology, his inspiration, marketing his own books, life from a banker to an author and what not. Despite hectic exam schedule, the event saw attendance from over 100 students and professors. The very fact that his books sold like wild fire during the event says everything about the enthusiasm and zeal of the attendees. An autograph signing session made the event most memorable for everyone.
“It was such a wonderful experience to interact with Amish on varied topics. Never could have I imagined to meet such a great author! After getting to know about his thoughts behind writing a book, I will read them from a different perspective now. Truly inspiring personality!” said Akaanksha Paranjpe from HR batch.
As excited as the students, Amish was thrilled to see the response of his books among the students and the insightful questions of the audience. Food for Thought session had something to offer to everyone on campus- mythology-lovers, lit-enthusiasts, budding-entrepreneurs, marketing-fanatics or anyone who ever picked up a pen and scribbled something poignant or enjoyed reading it. The happy faces at the end of the session are a huge mark of the success of the event.
